What the labels, dots and colours mean
Every word and dot the pages put beside an exchange or a price, and the rule behind each one: Live, Behind, No reply, Thin, Low volume, Quote, Closed and the rest.
The status bar
Over each index, scoreboard and coin page there’s a dot and a word for the page, then a dot for each exchange. The first dot is grey until a price arrives, green while every exchange is live, and amber while some aren’t. Each exchange’s dot is green while it’s live, amber while it’s late or reconnecting, and grey while it’s connecting or has stopped answering. Hover an exchange for its state in words.
On a coin page
- Live: its prices are arriving.
- Polled: live, but fetched every few seconds rather than streamed, as its stream couldn’t be held.
- Connecting: connecting for the first time.
- Reconnecting: it lost its connection, and is connecting again.
- Stalled: connected, but nothing has come from it for 10 seconds.
On an index, a scoreboard and Signals
- Waiting: no prices from it yet. A dot in a cell means the same.
- Behind: nothing new for 15 seconds on spot, or 75 seconds on perpetuals. Its prices stay, greyed, with their age.
- No reply: nothing for 90 seconds on spot, or 3 minutes on perpetuals. Its prices come off the table until it answers.
- A dash in a cell: the exchange doesn’t list that coin.
Beside a price
- best: the exchange to use. On spot, the best price for your side, with any within 0.5 of a basis point of it; on perpetuals, the cheapest funding for your side.
- Thin: its order book is more than 5% wide, so it has no price, and it’s left out of the best and the gap.
- Low volume, or a drop beside a figure: less than $100K traded there in 24 hours, so a real order may not fill near its price.
- Quote: Jupiter and CoW Protocol quote each swap rather than keep an order book, so their prices are shown but never ranked against the books.
- Closed: the exchange isn’t trading it right now, as with a tokenized stock out of hours. Hover it for when it reopens.
Up and down
A rise is green and a fall red, unless you choose Red up or Colour-blind friendly (Blue up, orange down) under Price colours in Settings. Settings, one by one has the others.
