What's changed on cryptoexchange.markets, release by release, newest first: what's new, where to find it on the site, and the posts that explain it.

  1. Latest

Funding history, live liquidations and Δ to current funding

The perpetuals pages show what funding has been, not only what it is, and who is being forced out of a market as it happens.

Funding paid over a weekPaid every hourPaid every 8 hoursAverage
A drawing from Crypto funding rate history: what 30 days of payments show.
    • Funding history. Every perpetuals page charts each exchange's funding payments over the last 7 or 30 days, with each one's average, from the sixteen exchanges whose history a browser can read: Bitcoin's, for one.
    • 7-day averages. On the perpetuals index, 7-day avg beside Funding swaps every rate for its average over the last week.
    • Δ to current funding. In the 7-day view, a tick box puts funding now and the gap beside each average, in colour once the two are 10 points a year apart.
    • Live liquidations. The change in open interest chart carries a strip of the liquidations as they happen, ▼ for a long and ▲ for a short, and lists the latest under it, from the fourteen exchanges whose feeds publish them.
    • Connect all. One button switches on every exchange with markets on the page: beside Add exchange on the index pages, and on every coin page, which has the same status bar now.
    • Fixes. Deribit by Coinbase's prices in its new, finer steps, and OKX's live data on its standard connection, before the old one closes on 31 October.

  2. Seven languages, Settings and your own currency

The site and the blog read in seven languages, Settings decide how the site looks, and its amounts can be in your own currency.

A drawing from Funding flow: crypto funding rates in dollars per hour.
    • Seven languages. English, Latin American Spanish, Simplified Chinese, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, and Arabic, which reads right to left: every page in each, at addresses of its own. Choose one in Settings.
    • Settings. The gear in the header: the theme (System, Light or Dark), the price colours (green up, red up, or colour-blind friendly), price flashes, the compact view and the keyboard shortcuts, kept in your browser.
    • Your own currency. Amounts in US dollars, euros, pounds, Canadian or Australian dollars or Swiss francs, converted live at the middle of Kraken's own order book. Every comparison is still worked out in dollars.
    • Funding flow/hr. What longs pay shorts in an hour, net, across the exchanges you have on: a column on the perpetuals index, and a figure on every perpetuals page.
    • Ten posts. Five more on the blog, and every post in all seven languages.

  3. Twenty-six exchanges, the compact view and the blog

Seventeen more exchanges to switch on, every price compared at the middle of its order book, and a blog that explains what the site shows.

    • Twenty-six exchanges. Seventeen more to switch on: Lighter, GRVT, Aster, edgeX, Extended, Variational, Pacifica, Gate, Nado, Lighter on Robinhood, ApeX Omni, Jupiter, CoW Protocol, Ondo Perps, Bitfinex, Polymarket Perps and Deribit by Coinbase. Each one loads only once you switch it on.
    • Coinbase's perpetuals. Coinbase International's moved to Deribit, so they're Deribit by Coinbase's now; Coinbase's own are its US perpetual-style futures.
    • The middle of the book. Spot prices are compared at the middle of each order book, as perpetuals were, and a book too wide apart to give a price says Thin.
    • Compact view. A coin page can show every exchange as a row of one table, and switches to it by itself with five or more exchanges on.
    • The blog. Five posts on how the site reads the markets, each opening with a drawing that moves.

  4. Choose your exchanges

An exchange switch in every page's header, five more exchanges to compare, and Hyperliquid on by default.

A drawing from DEX vs CEX: which gives you the better price?.
    • The exchange switch. In every page's header: the exchanges to compare, chosen once for every page and remembered in your browser, with how many of them are live.
    • Five more exchanges. Hyperliquid, Binance, Crypto.com, Bybit and Bitget. Kraken, Coinbase, OKX and Hyperliquid are on by default; Bitstamp by Robinhood and the others are a click away.
    • Market cap & 24h chart. A tick box on both indexes adds the coins' market caps, and a line of each market's last 24 hours.
    • Low volume. A mark beside an exchange's figure where under $100K traded in the last 24 hours, so a quiet market isn't mistaken for a busy one.

  5. 132 markets: stocks, ETFs and commodities

From 25 coins to 132 markets, with trading hours for tokenized stocks, fee tiers in the trade simulator and the funding spread trade.

A drawing from Trading tokenized stocks on weekends and after hours.
    • 132 markets. 65 more coins, PAX Gold, 20 tokenized stocks and 4 ETFs on both indexes, and 17 markets traded only as perpetuals, gold and oil among them. A switch above each table shows one kind at a time.
    • Trading hours. A tokenized stock that pauses outside market hours is marked Closed, and its page counts down to the reopening.
    • Fee tiers. The trade simulator takes each exchange's fees at your own tier, from your 30-day volume or your assets.
    • The funding spread trade. Each perpetuals page works out the trade in the gap between exchanges: long where funding is lowest, short where it's highest.
    • The indexes explained. How to read each table and the questions people ask, under it; Spot and Perpetuals as two tabs at the top; and a logo for every market.

  6. Launch: 25 coins on four exchanges

cryptoexchange.markets opens: the same coin, priced by Kraken, Coinbase, OKX and Bitstamp by Robinhood at the same moment.

    • Two indexes. Spot: the cheapest exchange to buy each coin, and how far behind the others are, in basis points. Perpetuals: each exchange's funding, side by side.
    • A page for every market. Each coin's spot market and perpetual: every exchange's live price, the order books combined, a trade simulator, and on perpetuals, open interest and funding.
    • Search. Find a coin from any page with / or ⌘K (Ctrl+K).
    • Straight from the exchanges. Every price is read by your own browser from the exchanges' public market data, live, with no account.
